授業の特色

●マネジャーの役割、必要なスキルとは（The Role of the Manager）
マネジャーに必要なネゴシエーションのスキル、リーダーシップ、モチベーションなどについて学ぶ。実例に基づいた様々な文化背景を持つマネージャーのタイプ・組織のリーダーシップスタイルについてや、どのようにして人はマネージャーになってゆくのか、マネージャーの役割とは何かについて学ぶ。課題では、実際にマネジャー達にインタビューをして理論の検証を試みる。

●大都市ロンドンの社会構造を学ぶ（London Business: operating in a Global City）
ロンドンは、世界のメトロポリス。ニューヨークと共にダイナミズム、立地、多様性やその開放的なさまざまな要因において真のグローバルシティであり、新ビジネスのあらゆるチャンスと雇用を生み出している。授業では、ファイナンス、テクノロジー、ツーリズム、移民などの世界的トレンドについて学ぶと同時に交通機関、雇用の機会など地域的要因についても学習する。

●組織論の入門編授業（Global Business Environment）
グローバル社会におけるビジネスの組織、目的、構造やガバナンスとは何かについて学ぶ。同時に、組織内外に存在する多文化の現状やこれらの組織が直面する倫理的制約などについても考察する。実践力ある集団とは、またリーダーシップスキルとは何か？などを通して首尾一貫した仮説検証の報告書の書き方などについても学ぶ、組織論の入門編授業。

●グローバルコミュニケーションの概念と戦略（Interpersonal Global Communication: Concepts and Strategies）
コミュニケーション術の理論を学ぶ。これらの理論を模索し、日常の実践的な事柄に結びつけ、自身のコミュニケーションにどう適用すべきかを検証する。コミュニケーターとしての自らの能力を高めるための実践的な戦略を得ることに焦点を当てる。

●マーケティングの基礎を学ぶ（Marketing Principles）
社会やビジネスにおけるマーケティングの役割について学ぶ入門編の授業。マーケティングアクティビティの基礎概念、消費者行動、マーケティングのツールなどについて学ぶ。また同時にマーケティングの基礎概念が現代社会の中や環境問題にどのように使われ、またどのような効果を出しているのかについて評価する。
消費者行動の要因を探る（Buyer Behaviour）
消費者行動、心理学、社会学の分野の理論を駆使しながら、消費者の行動にはどのような要因があるのかについて学ぶ。さらにそうした消費者行動の情報を商業界がどのように扱い、決断を下し、ものを作る・売るというプロセスを行っているのかについても学ぶ。

●観光産業の戦略プランニングを学ぶ（Strategic Planning for Tourism）
ツーリズム・プランニングを社会や政策の側面から学び、プランニングの過程における関係者の役割や影響について考察する。ツーリズムとして最適な場所を設定し、ツーリズムの収益について提案書を作成する課題が与えられる。また、プランニングにおける航空業界の発達についても理解を深める。

●プロジェクトとプログラムマネージメント（Project and Programme Management）
プロジェクトおよびプログラム管理のスキルや知識の開発を目的とする。プロジェクトマネジメントの基礎を概説し、戦略的かつ国際的なプロジェクトやプログラム管理の課題を探求する。

●高級市場におけるビジネスマネージメント（Luxury Business Management）
高級市場の進化、業績、将来の課題を探求する。高級市場の歴史やビジネスモデルを分析することで、ブランド管理のプロセスを探求し、ブランドイメージとアイデンティティーの重要性を学ぶ。授業内容は顧客とブランドの関係理解を深めながら、高級市場の行く末に関する議論にも及ぶ。

●“人”と“組織”の関係性を理解する（People and Organisations）
組織が人の行動に影響を及ぼす要因を学ぶ。自己理解を深め、他者の行動を理解することを目的とし、心理学的および社会学的観点から組織行動を調査し、”行動の理解”を深める。現代の組織で多く見受けられる事例を用いて、相違性や多様性に焦点をあてる。

●政治と地理の関係性を探る（Geopolitics）
戦後の20世紀以降の歴史を振り返り、政治と地理の関係性を探る。また、イエメンの内戦やミャンマーのロヒンギャ難民問題など現代社会における実例を用いながら、国際的な地政学の理解を深める。

●犯罪と規律のグローバル化（Globalisation, Crime and Control）
犯罪と司法の国際動向、グローバリゼーションとの関係、犯罪学の規律に対するその意味を問う。リオデジャネイロの市民犯罪、南米から北米への薬物流入、警察の犯罪と司法の事例など国際的な犯罪や規律について理解を深める。

●写真展を観る、写真を撮る（Photography in London）
写真展などを通して様々なスタイルやジャンルについて学ぶ。コンテンポラリーや歴史写真展などを訪問し、自分の目で見た作品に対する反応を、自分で撮影した写真で表現。グループと個人プロジェクトを通して自分の写真ブログの作成とイメージクリティークのスキルを学ぶ。

●美術作品や歴史的建造物に親しむ（Art & Society）
毎週授業で美術館やギャラリーに行って作品を鑑賞する。また、ロンドン市内の有名な建造物の見学も。いくつかの作品について重点的な説明があるため、絵画や建造物についての新たな側面・解釈を知ることができる。

●絵画入門を学ぶ（Drawing Systems）
与えられた題材に基づき作品を創作する。現代美術の創作における芸術的な表現力を高め、創作した作品のプレゼンテーションも行う。

●演劇鑑賞とレビュー中心の授業（London Theatre Studies）
毎週先生が推薦する劇、もしくはミュージカルを観て翌週の授業でディスカッションする。授業では、演劇とは何かのセオリーやレビューの書き方などを学ぶ。アメリカ人留学生が多く参加しており、ディスカッションのテンポは速いがアメリカ演劇との比較も面白い。

●風刺と都市の関係性を読み解く（Satire and the City）
性や政治的道徳、風刺、都市生活と都市文化、劇場と光景、文学批評の発達などのテーマを扱う授業。歴史的なドラマ、詩、ノンフィクションの散文など、18世紀の終わりまでに描かれた書物を読み解く。

●国際開発におけるジレンマを考察する（Dilemmas of International Development）
多分野にわたる国際開発の理論や政策、およびその実践法における歴史を学ぶ。どのように国際開発が議論・実践され、達成されるか理解を深める。近代化、依存、新自由主義など、壮大な開発理論とアプローチを探求。富の分配、政治的変化、人権など広範囲の視点で国際開発を捉える力を養い、発展途上国への影響を考察する。

●犯罪や正義をジェンダーの視点で捉える（Gender, Crime and Justice）
犯罪学おけるジェンダーの意義の理解を深め、法律、刑事司法および談話の役割を分析する。この分野における現代の社会政策を分析・研究し、国際情勢におけるジェンダーの問題や課題を考察する。

●EU諸国による地域勢力を模索する（The European Union as a Regional Power）
欧州連合（EU）に焦点を当て、欧州政治における3つの重要な発展の相互作用を分析する。ヨーロッパの「覇権者」としてのEUによる欧州化の政治的論説、ヨーロッパ諸国におけるヴェストファーレン州モデルの変容、中欧・東欧諸国の民主化への移行におけるEUの役割の理解を深めながら、歴史的および現代的な事例を通して考察する。

●文化の課題を考察する（Issues in Culture）
ポスト構造主義者、ポストコロニアル主義者、ポストモダニスト主義者からの主要な読解を通して、主観性、生態学、およびデジタル化などの現代的な文化的課題に取り組む。

●ピープルマネージメント/人材育成について学ぶ（Managing People）
批判的、応用的、理論的なアプローチを取り入れ、組織マネージメントに必要な概論を学ぶ。経営陣の責任や、自己のキャリア育成に必要な基礎的なスキルと理解力を身に付ける。

●英国の文学革命を紐解く（Writing Revolutions）
16世紀と17世紀に宗教的、社会的、政治的混乱を招いた文学革命を紐解く。エリザベス朝末期から英国革命にかけて発表され、宗教、人権、政治の3つのテーマで構成された作品を取り扱い、詩や散文、演劇の革命的な進化を学ぶ。
